The spine & the adjacent edge of the front wrap are slightly darkened. 42 pages, including 11 black-and-white plates reproducing etchings, a lithograph & a woodcut by Millet. Very good. Jean-François Millet [1814-1875] was a French painter and one of the founders of the Barbizon school in rural France. Millet is noted for his scenes of peasant farmers; he can be categorized as part of the Realism art movement. This text is focused on Millet's work as an etcher.
