Book Description: Gale Ecco, Print Editions, United States, 2010. Paperback. Book Condition: New. 189 x 246 mm. Brand New Book ***** Print on Demand *****. The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. This collection reveals the history of English common law and Empire law in a vastly changing world of British expansion. Dominating the legal field is the Commentaries of the Law of England by Sir William Blackstone, which first appeared in 1765. Reference works such as almanacs and catalogues continue to educate us by revealing the day-to-day workings of society.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. Book Description: (London): Henry Lintot and John Osborn, 1746., 1746. 668 S., Ldr. d.Zt. 2°. P. Hair, Hrsg., Barbot on Guinea (1992), Bd. II, S. XXXIVff. und LXXXV, Fussnote 105. - vgl. Henze I, 163; Howgego I, 85. Jahrhundert, das den Hauptteil bildet des fünften Bandes der "Collection of Voyages and Travels, some now first printed from original manuscripts, others now first printed in English". Ad I) Im Anhang auf den Seiten 591-668 gedruckt findet sich der: 'Account of the First Discovery of America by Christopher Columbus and A Brief Description and Historical Account of the Caribbee Islands in North America and Their Present State', eine englische Teilübersetzung von Antonio de Herrera y Tordesillas auf Spanisch erschienener "Historia general de los hechos de los Castellanos en las islas y tierra firme del Mar Oceano". (Vorderdeckel lose. Durchgehend etwas gebräunt, stellenweise kurze Randeinrisse, insgesamt ein schönes Exemplar). Bookseller Inventory # 156259
