Paperback. Condition: Very Good. A card (approx. 15.5 x 10cm) signed by Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall and Katharine Hepburn. It has two written passages. One states 'Talked to the old boy in NY. He certainly is insane about the picture'. The other 'To Jeanie - oh dear me - a merry christmas & we wish we were saying it in person'. It is signed beneath three cherubic figures Ð Kate, Bogie, Betty. Lauren Bacall was known to friends and family as 'Betty.'The Jeanie referred to is Jeanie Sims who was assistant to the producer (John Huston) of The African Queen. Jeanie had become a personal friend of Bogart, Bacall and Hepburn. The 'old boy' is probably the director John Huston. No date - early 1950s. Further provenance is available on request. The card was discovered in a Limited Commemorative Edition set of The African Queen (obviously from a later date) in the effects of Jeanie's brother John. The set includes a video of the film, a book of the making of the film, a collector's certificate, miniature posters of the film and a screen adaptation for The African Queen. This set comes with the signed card. Good condition with one unobtrusive smudge. Signedes.
