Olive Cloth. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Illustrated with multiple black and white engravings - chromolithograph frontispiece in each volume (illustrator). LIT 035625 LOC Four large handsome olive green cloth hard cover volumes (volumes I and IV are copyright date 1892, volumes II and III are dated 1896, however the four volumes are a perfect match), with bright gilt titling and decorations on front boards, slightly dulled on spines. With generally mild wear mostly to head and heel of spines and corners where there is tiny fraying and with mild rubbing to the rear boards. Fore edges are gilt. Interiors of these volumes are clean and lovely, with cream silk moire end papers. Binding is tight, boards are tight. Color frontispiece in each volume, illustrated throughout, engravings with tissue guards. Additional shipping charges will apply for this massive set. Same author as the Dictionary of Phrase and Fable.
