Illustrated with drawings by Donald Shoffstall. 7.25" x 10". 544 pp. Light green cloth, and light brown cloth. This set is signed in each volume by Arthur Currier, and there is an ink presentation inscription from Currier on the page facing the limitation page. The chapter "The Most Durable Gunner" in the grouse volume, pages 172-180, is about Arthur Currier. Currier was also the subject of a photo-essay on grouse shooting in 'Holiday' magazine, November, 1948. A signed letter by Currier, written in pencil, is laid-in. These are two great anthologies of grouse and woodcock shooting stories by Forester, Lewis, Bumstead, Hallock, Rutledge, Grinnell, Phillips, Sheldon, Schaldach, Knight, Norris, Leopold, Holland, Evans, Hill, Woolner, Seton, Hammond, Mershon, Foster, Spiller, Gullion, Ford and others. Original prospectus laid-in. Very fine in very good original slipcases.
