Suede. Condition: VG+. No Jacket. First Edition. Brown suede with brown leather title panel with gilt tiles to the front. 91 pp. This copy is VG+. Exterior is rich. Gilt is bright. Minimal signs of wear to the yapped edges. Spine is only minimally sunned . One nickel sized rub to back cover. Inside has brown silk EPs and brown silk bookmark. Frontispiece with tissue guard of Whitman after the bas-relief by Saint Jerome Roycroft. Text is modestly/evenly toned, unmarked and firmly bound. Suede cover is starting to pull away from the spine at the inside front hinge, but holding. Hand illuminated initial letters throughout.

First letter of chapter headings, enlarged, coloured and decorated. Condition: Falling apart! Has been kept together with period wool! Loose pages, pages scuffed on edges. Front and back age discoloured. e/ps age discoloured. However! The main bulk of text clean, readable and good colour. With a bit of TLC would greatly improve what is a rare first edition copy.
