Item Description: The Alma Egan Hyatt Foundation, New York, 1935. Hard Cover Cloth. Book Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. Preface, 2 maps, index, xvi, 723 pages; and a list of other publications. Sturdy black cloth is in excellent shape except at the base of spine where gilt lettering is a bit rubbed; bright above. Interior clean, with just a touch of toning, especially evident on text-block edges. [See image of actual book.] It's all here---country philosophy or old wives' tales! With a proper Contents and a thorough Index to find your way around. This one must be more philosophical, for I remember my father quoting it: "Twelve pears hanging high, / Twelve men riding by, / Each man took a pear, / Left eleven hanging there." (Answer on page 660, or if you email me---or purchase the book!) As with every book from my father's collection, tipped in at the front is a small, attractive, acid-free bookplate, pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly-----domestic sales sent with 'delivery confirmation' tracking; most international sales sent via global priority.
