Illustrated by George Samuel Elgood, an English artist and illustrator who became well known for his paintings of formal gardens. With notes from Gertrude Jekyll, a British horticulturist, garden designer, craftswoman, photographer, writer and artist. She created over 400 gardens in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. In the original cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. A chip to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Minor fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning to the endpapers.
