Francesco Laurana (1430 - 1502) was an Dalmatian sculptor (Italian and Croatian) known for his portrait busts. "His art is legible to us today and awakens in us the joy of recognition" (introduction). Includes introductory essay, 12 plates, and bibliography. Essays printed by Harold McGrath, plates printed at the Meriden Gravure Co., in Meriden, Connecticut. Printed in Centaur and Arrighi types on Amalfi paper, handmade in Italy with plates on Tovil paper, handmade in England. Bound in blue laid paper over cream parchment spine titled in gilt. A few small spots of foxing to parchment. Clean interior overall with minor browning to endpapers from glue used in binding. Small scattered spots of foxing, mostly to margins. In original glassine, which is browned wiht a few tears to edges. Unpaginated. PRI/101923.
