"Lois Lenski had a huge impact upon people of a certain age," notes PUBLISHERS WEEKLY; a generation of Americans "were shaped by" her stories and illustrations. Critics were also fans: she earned two Newbery Honors and a Newbery Medal in the later 1930s and '40s. GRANDMOTHER TIPPYTOE is a scarce and charming example of Lenski's early work, especially difficult to find signed. 9.25'' x 7''. Original purple cloth binding with color pictorial paste-on. Very light rippling to the foot of the pages, light staining along the bottom-edge, otherwise clean as could be internally. And in a crisp, price-intact ($2.00), VG+ to Near Fine dustjacket, with several very small closed tears along the panel edges and just a touch of light wear at the spine crown. Octavo, nicely illustrated thruout by the author herself.

Tight and Near Fine in a crisp, price-intact (and price-clipped) dustjacket, with light rubbing along the panels, light chipping at the spine ends and several very small closed tears. Still though, an attractive, very presentable copy of an uncommon later Lenski title. Octavo., nicely illustrated thruout by Lois Lenski herself.
