First Edition
Unbound. Condition: Near Fine. Large illustrated poster. 36.25 x 24.25. Professionally mounted on linen. Small chip at the top of a vertical fold lightly restored, near fine. Poster for a charity event, featuring the "Cobina Wright Circus Augmented with Myriads of Broadway and Cinema Stars" including listed performers are Fanny Brice, George Jessell, Walter Huston, and many others. Large image on the right hand side by Machamer of a (presumably Cobina) curvaceous female ring-mistress with top hat and whip, surrounded by a clown, and circus animals. Cobina Wright was an actress and singer, and later a hostess and syndicated gossip columnist, and the wife of (among others) the famed American author Owen Johnson. She hosted charity balls at the Waldorf for a number of causes. Striking and pleasing visual depiction.
