Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 1948 first edition published by Whitman Publishing Co (Racine, Wisconsin). Illustrated by Catherine Barnes. Wonderful lithographs throughout. The last page has a torn section missing. The spine has some damage. However, the book is in very good condition for a 1940's children's book. The lithographs are bright and just stunning. These could be excised and framed for a wonderful decorating idea for a child's room or nursery. Also has a gift inscription and a child's name on the inside front end paper. (BR) Box 23.

All corners worn to boards, but only the very corners.Base of spine is a little more so. Last page of text (also rear free end paper) has 2 inch self healing tear, NOT taped. No names, or other marks, writing inside or out. Remember Big John and Sparky, every Saturday morning? Collectible condition. Very nice.
