Soft cover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 9 7/8 X 6 1/2" in paper cover. This is a most unusual magazine from 1929. The initial article is by Bertrand Russell: "Are Insects Intelligent?" After that, Maj. Hingston holds forth for 178pp on the subject of Instinct and Intelligence. This is followed by a few very short articles, editorial features, letters, etc. The entire issue is basically devoted to the one subject. Both covers are soiled, and evidence of water exposure extends 15 pp into the book and for the last 27pp. Covers are also chipped all along the edges. X/S/Q.

Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft splitting and crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.
