Bright blue cloth foldout case, H 23.25cm x L 17.25cm, with two faux ivory clasps; bright gilt stamping to front panel and spine; light rubbing/soiling to panels. String-bound paperback: H 22.25cm x L 16.5cm. 80 pages (double leaves, i.e. folded pages). Interior pages are bright and clean. Binding is firm. An English translation by Dr. Eiko Ariga of the original 1836 Japanese edition. With 26 b/w illustrations reproducing the original woodblocks by ukiyo-e artist Matsukawa Hanzan. Errata on page 80.
