An exceptionally nice, clean book, no bends, inside pages clean, and signed by the author. Content: Milk baked hams and perfect fried chicken, sizzling barbequed spareribs, melt in your mouth peanut butter biscuits, onion pie, and lucious sweet grits pudding that's soul food. Born and bred in the Deep South, this Black American cuisine has come North to tantalize the palates of such international food sophisticates as The New York Times food editor, Craig Claiborne. Among Mr. Claiborne's favorite soul food spots is a tiny Manhattan establishment called Princess Pamela's Little Kitchen. The Kitchen is manned by Princess Pamela herself, who not only concocts fabulous meals but also serves up a fund of folk wisdom, such as "Three things I find offensive--Mean men, back-biting women and sloppy cookin. " Now she has collected her prized recipes and sage sayngs and written them down; the result is a truly unique cookbook, brimming with zest, vitality and with easy, economical dishes which will have your guest begging you to sock them seconds. ; J & J Auction 4-12-08; Signed by Author. Item Description: Signet, New York, 1969. Mass Market Paperback. Book Condition: Fine. First. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Covers show no wear, though perhaps a very slight discoloration due to age. Spine is straight and uncreased. Interior is tight and unmarked except for owner's name in ink on half title page, and is tanning especially toward edges. There is a small wrinkle on the forward edge of five consecutive pages probably caused by a paperclip. Apart from marking these pages, it seems the owner did not make use of this book. Some sellers state that the author has signed the book on the title page. While there is a signature on that page, this seller believes it to be printed rather than autographed, and imagines it is found on all copies of this book. This book is the April 1969 first printing. 248 pp. Cookbook. Bookseller Inventory # 002947
