ROGERS, BRUCE (1870-1957). American book designer and typogrpher. Autograph letter signed, Cambridge, Mass., 3 April 1896. To Messrs. Stone & Kimball, seeking payment for design work. 1 page, octavo. Two punch holes at top not affecting writing, else very good. A slightly agitated Rogers writes: "I am sorry to have to write you for the third time regarding my bill for book-covers. I was assured when the designs were accepted that a cheque would be sent me immediately. That is now two months past." Rogers did some cover designs for Stone & Kimball in 1895, and this letter may explain why his work for Stone & Kimball did not continue.
