Top of spine is pulled. With pictorial plate pasted-down on front cover. Children's scrawl/hand lettering in pencil and red crayon within the illustration of front end papers and the 'This Book Belongs To:' page on 2nd page forward. HInge of front end pages and rear end pages are split and hang only by threads. Front boards worn at edges and corners are rubbed through so that brown boards below are esposed. [298 pages].

In 'The Giant Horse of Oz,' she introduces child readers to new and whimsical characters, telling the story of the malevolent lake beast Quiberon's demand for three mortal maidens and two groups' quests to resist him.

In 'Kabumpo in Oz,' Prince Pompadore of Pumperdink receives a scroll on his eighteenth birthday, warning that unless he weds a 'proper princess' within seven days, his kingdom will disappear. The prince, along with the kingdom's wise elephant Kabumpo, set off on an adventure to the Emerald City, so Pomp can find a princess to wed.

Hardcover. Condition: Good (-) Book. No Jacket. The rear bottom cover is mottled from what must have been a jacket on it at one time and there is a small black line near the top center (on the rear cover as well. The front pasted cover illustration looks really good. There is just a little bit of wear at the spine and there are a few tiny numbers that are not really noticeable. The binding is nicely secure and the rear inside cover illustration s have some child's coloring to the two opposite OZ signs (on the outer rim), otherwise nice clean pages. Just over 9 x 6-1/2 with 279 pages. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Book.

Near fine in brown cloth with a full color pasted on illustration in a very good dust jacket. (small chip at top of spine of dj, other minor wear, price on dj has been stamped over with 2.50.) The upper corners of a few pages are slightly bumped, but binding and front illustration is bright and beautiful.
