Hardcover. Condition: Very Good-. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 160 pages; Bound in publisher's light turquoise cloth with pictorial designs to board and spine in black and red - of two scouts summiting an incline, and a scout raising a pennant, respectively. Prior ownership inscription, Christmas 1914, to front endpage. Beige paper dust jacket with same pictorial designs as boards and spine but done in navy blue only. Shaler Scouts title catlog on rear panel lists titles to "City Improvement" and not including the Prize Pennant title. Cloth and pictorial designs are uniformly bright; silverfish predation in the external hinge has opened three short runs in the cloth the width of a forefinger nail. Several pinhole predations to rear external hinge and some thinning and tiny spots of loss along the lower edge of the rear board. Binding snug; endpages strong in the joints. Rare original dust jacket is lightly toned at spine with just small nicks/chips at spine ends. A shallow damp stain to the lower edge of the front panel is offset on the front board. Lamentable silverfish evidence to cloth in the joints but overall a very well preserved and bright example of the 1st edition in dust jacket. VG-/VG.
