She learned to do all the things on a farm that sons usually did and experienced all the hardships of pioneer life- drouth, hail, blizzards, prairie fires, and mange- the cattle killer. During her youth she learned how to make patchwork quilts that earned her a reputation. The family moved to western Nebraska where she met a young cowboy, married and began a career as a schoolteacher. She spent the rest of her life on the ranch, made quilts, raised a family, and made quilts. A true accounting of life on the Nebraska frontier. A clean presentable reading copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
