Original maroon gilt decorated cloth, t.e.g., first edition, maps, some folding, plates, some coloured and folding. Plate in front pocket lacking as usual. Org. decor gilt cloth. V.G. See Illustration 575 Henry Windsor was the son of Henry Villiers Stuart (1803-1874), Lord Stuart de Decies. In 1865 Henry Windsor married Mary, second daughter of Ven. Ambrose Power, Archdeacon of Lismore and son of Sir John Power 1st. Bt. of Kilfane, Co. Kilkenny. In 1874/75 Henry Windsor vacated his seat in Parliament to pursue his claim to his father s title Lord Stuart de Decies, but was unsuccessful in this claim. In 1882, after the battle of Tex el Kebir, he was commissioned by the British Government to visit Egypt to report on the condition of the people. He wrote a number of books on Egypt and South America which can be seen in the Waterford County Museum Collection. He tried, unsuccessfully, to establish an Agricultural College in Ring, the shell of the building is used today by Colaiste na Rinne. He was drowned on the 12th, October 1895 aged 65 after falling from a boat on the River Blackwater.
