Inscribed and signed on the front free endpage by Swenson to a teacher and group of 2nd grade students. Soundly bound in original light blue cloth with pictorial title design in darker blue. Cloth toned at spine with titles dulled a bit. Supplement of 16 additional pages and illustrations laid in publisher's pocket at rear of book. Illustrated from b&w and color drawings. Several pages bumpe with light stress crease at front edge. G+; Signed by Author.

    Blue Cloth. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Frederick MacHetanz (illustrator). First Edition / First Printing. Edge and corner worn, scuffed and scratched, no dj, corners are bumped and rubbed, shelf worn, some damage from liquid to the upper portion of the rear board near the spine, heavy stain on pages 54 and 55 which has bled through to a few of the surrounding pages (does not affect readability), there is a liquid stain at the top of a few of the interior pages as well, some light foxing, dist. 246 is written in ink on the inner front cover, overall a fair collectible used first edition! Very very rare and hard-to-find! Blue cloth with blue illustration and lettering on the front board and blue letteing on the spine. 112 historical pages nicely enhanced by black and white and color illustrations! Extremely scarce and out-of-print title! "This story of Kayoo and his friends was written by a teacher who lives in Kayoo's village in Alaska. She teaches Eskimo boys and girls so she knows a great deal about them. The pictures were made by a man who lived in the village.
