The first volume was published with the name of T.Hudson Turner, a former Public Record Office employee, as its author, but Turner died in 1852, and the remaining volumes were the work of the indefatigable John Henry Parker, who had in fact already been responsible for the descriptions of buildings and other strictly architectural matter in Turner's volume. 8vo. 3 vols bound in 4, as issued.
