unbound. Condition: very good. A.L.S. "Owen Wister", 8vo. 2 pages, Philadelphia, declining to work on a project, in part: ".I know of no paper in whose columns I would like to appear. It happens just now that I am not writing any fiction, or indeed anything. Whatever. it will probably be a number of months before I can resume systematic writing. So - I fear I cannot be part of your 50th year. If, however, the unexpected happens, and I find the time for such a story. I shall keep your note in mind." Very slight show-through -- otherwise in fine condition. American author and historian highly regarded as being the Father of Western Fiction. He is remembered for writing The Virginian and a biography of President U.S. Grant.

Couverture rigide. Condition: Bon. L.A.S., Philadelphie, 20 mars 1903, 2p in-4. [375].
