(The original publication was in 1931 and is very rare). Shelf wear, top and bottom of spine softening, sunned. Spotting, mainly pages edges. Text block cracking in a couple of places but still intact. Contents clean. The author was in the Endurance with Shackleton on his Antarctic Expedition. A telling of the great adventure by a member of the party. When the ship 'Endurance' is beset in the Antarctic pack ice, Shackleton leads his party to Elephant Island and from there sails to South Georgia, crosses it on foot (climbing mountains on the way) to seek rescue for the remaining party.
