Book
hardcover, 5¾" x 8¾", with dust jacket 124 pages Genevieve Laporte first met Picasso when he was sixty-three and she was seventeen. Their friendship was intimate for a few years, and during that time she witnessed unrecorded episodes in his life and heard him talking about painting with his friends - in particular, Cocteau, Eluard and Sabartes. She draws a vibrant portrait of Picasso the man - a portrait built up gradually with an intuitive awareness of his fundamental humility and the power of victimization inherent in his genius. Eight pages of b&w illustrations. Ours is an ex-library copy in transparent protective covering, with usual stamps, stickers, pocket and barcode. GOOD book in GOOD unclipped dust jacket.
