Kapitel: Brasilianischer Meister (Badminton), Brasilianischer Meister (Boxen), Brasilianischer Meister (Fußball), Brasilianischer Meister (Handball), Brasilianischer Meister (Leichtathletik), Brasilianischer Meister (Radsport), Diego Ribas da Cunha, Pelé, Alexsandro de Souza, Deivid, Edu Dracena, Josué, Kléber Pereira, Ademir da Guia, João Carlos de Oliveira, Eric Gull, Vicente de Lima, Roseli Feitosa, Þórunn Helga Jónsdóttir, André da Silva, Elisângela Adriano, Gladstone Pereira della Valentina, Claudinei da Silva, Leandro Santos, Márcia Narloch, Guilherme Pardo, Guilherme Kumasaka, Murilo Fischer, Paulo von Scala, Breno Sidoti, Luiz Amorim, Ana Marcela Cunha, Nilceu dos Santos, Alex Arseno, Carlos Eduardo Chinin, Soelito Gohr, Raphael de Oliveira, Carlos Manarelli, Cleberson Weber, Flavio dos Santos, Pedro Nicácio, Renato Ruiz, Thiago Duarte, Adriana Aparecida, Tiego Gasparotto. He won the award in both 2004 and 2005. Prior to his move to Flamengo, he played for Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona and Milan. With the Spanish club, he won his first Champions League in 2006 and the Ballon d'Or in 2005. He became a Spanish citizen in January 2007. He was also named in the FIFA 100, a list of the greatest footballers compiled by fellow countryman Pelé, and in the FIFPro World XI consecutively from 2004-2007. Ronaldinho was born in the city of Porto Alegre, the state capital of Rio Grande do Sul. His mother, Dona Miguelina Elói Assis dos Santos (daughter of Enviro Assis), is a former salesperson who studied to become a nurse. Item Description: Finely printed from type by Christian Götze [fl. 1683-1708] for Thomas Fritsch, Leipzig, the first edition edited by Joachim Kühn, bilingual Greek and Latin text in parallel columns with catchwords, supplementary matter in Latin and Hebrew, title page printed with red & black letters and decorated with the printer's engraved b/w logo, a 112 x 73 mm Pegasus (flying horse), texts decorated with chapter initials and woodcut head-and-foot pieces with botanical or classical motifs, 1696. Hardcover. Book Condition: Good. NOTABILITY: The most important surviving classical work on early Greek religious practices, art, and architecture, it is an indispensable guide to southern and central Greece in the 2nd century, providing crucial details on hundreds of sites and villages in Attica and the Peloponnese, and authoritative treatments of the Apollo sanctuary at Delphi (60 pages in Book X), and the Zeus shrine at Olympia (110 pages of the Elis books). "Pausanias is the only known reliable source on many aspects of early Greek history." [Habicht, p. 28] "Like Herodotus, Pausanias was a mine of ethnographic information about the classical world." [Ackerman, p. 128] "But the value of Pausanias to archaeologists and to all classical scholars is unique and astonishing." [Levi, p. 1] By general acclaim, the Kühn edition remained the most valued critical Greek text until well into the 19th century: "Pausanias was Johann Joachim Winckelmann's guide." [Pretzler] "Winckelmann used Kühn." [Kochs] The critical Greek text of Hitzig and Blümner (1856) finally superseded Kühn. Rocha-Pereira (2nd edition, 1989) is now the authoritative edition. PROVENANCE: Thomas Papillon Esq. [1803-1883] of Acrise Place, Kent and Crowhurst Park, Sussex, his b/w bookplate, 98 x 84 mm in the plate, engraved from a Thomas Cole design with circumscribing Latin motto, "Ditat Servata Fides" (Faith preserved enriches). "The design was originally done for Burke's Heraldic Illustrations and later used as a bookplate." [British Museum] AVAILABILITY: Very scarce and sought after, a worldwide search finds 80 institutional holdings including at Princeton, Oxford and Cambridge. LAID IN: a handwritten note (by an unknown person, not Dibdin) with an excerpt from Dibdin on the Kühn edition. SIZE: Covers: 358 x 233 mm (14.1 x 9.2 inches) / Pages: 333 x 212 mm. PAGINATION: Confirmed complete, except for front blank leaf: [26 pages]; 1-898 pages; 899-943 pp., with each column as one page; (1); [75] pp., indices, pages not numbered but Index I, 29 leaves, Index II, 9 pp., and Index III, 8 pp.; [1] leaf, rear blank.
