Item Description: Grosset & Dunlap, New York, 1934. Hard Cover. Book Condition: Near Fine to Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good Plus. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. ** NOT EX-LIBRARY ** TRUE 1ST EDITION WITH DUSTJACKET ** 215 pages with 3 pages of ads at the end, 4 internal full-page illustrations on glossy paper by Ferdinand E. Warren, with the girls "reading note" pictorial endpapers. The first Dana Girls mystery, #1 on dustjacket spine. Thick edition, in the very sturdy purple cloth-covered boards with embossed black lettering and with the magnifying glass/necklace silhouette on the front. Dustjacket flap and copyright page lists only the first three Dana Girls titles. These 3 books were released simultaneously as a breeder set for the series. Also lists Nancy Drew titles to "The Password to Larkspur Lane". Reverse side of dustjacket is Grosset & Dunlap catalog for books, and rear jacket panel reads only "A New Story by the Author of Nancy Drew". A lovely, near flawless copy of the book itself, with no real flaws to note, shows only extremely brief, very occasional and faint signs of use. The book is exceptionally clean and stain-free, it stands perfectly straight, and it is very firm and tight in its binding, no pages loose or missing. The hinges are sound and undamaged, the corners unbumped. The pages are very clean, clear, and unsoiled, only faintly age-toned, and all text is bright, crisp and sharp. There is a previous owner's signature discreetly near the top of the front free endpaper, but absolutely no other writing, underlining, highlighting or other such markings in the book. The cloth binding shows virtually no wear at all and remains bright and crisp, looks almost like new. The dustjacket colors are faintly faded from age, but the jacket is very clean and stain free, moderately edgeworn, with occasional chipping and minor edge-tears, but jacket remains basically complete and intact, all lettering and graphics present and remain very clear, bright, sharp and legible. Jacket now in removable clear mylar protective cover. Buy with confidence, professional booksellers for 35 years, selling online since 1995. Bookseller Inventory # 011326

Item Description: Grosset & Dunlap, Publishers, 1931. Hardcover. Book Condition: Good. No Jacket. Russell H. Tandy (illustrator). 1st Edition. Nancy Drew Mystery Stories, The Secret at Shadow Ranch was written by Carolyn Keene and has illustrations by Russell H. Tandy. The book was published by Grosset & Dunlap, Publishers in 1931 and appears to be a First Edition though it's not specifically stated as such. (It is last-listed on the copyright page and it has the appropriate 1931 date as well.) It's not an ex-library copy, is in good + condition, and it has no dust jacket. There is a bookstamp of one previous owner pasted to the front paste down end page, and the name of another previous owner written on the front loose end page. Like most of these older Nancy Drew hard covers I'm betting that the spine IS getting brittle. I've been very careful in my handling of it. The book is 5 1/4" by 7 5/8" and has 204 pages with some black-and-white illustrations/plates. It also has light blue boards with gold print bordered by black on the front board and pure black print on the spine. Thank you!. Bookseller Inventory # 008656

Item Description: 1997. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. First edition. NineÂwell looked after copies from Albert's 'China Bayles Mysteries' seriesAll First EditionsBound in paper with unclipped dust wrappersSusan Wittig Albert (born 1940) is a mystery writer from Vermilion County, Illinois, United States. Her writing career has included the Nancy Drew mysteries under the penname Carolyn Keene in the 1980s. By the 1990s, Albert was ready to embark upon an independent career and wrote Thyme of Death, her first China Bayles novel. The book was warmly received, and was nominated for two national mystery awards, the Agatha and the Anthony. All seventeen of the China Bayles novels include the names of herbs, and the subsequent mysteries invariably include detailed, meticulously reported herbal themes that invoke the title. She is a popular guest speaker at both herbal clubs and women's groups. Albert has described her books as cosy mysteries, because they do not describe much violence or gratuitous behaviour. Condition: The binding for all copies is tight and firm. There is almost no wear to the extremities to any of the copies,Âwith only the slightest bumping. There is no wear to any of the dust wrappers. Internally the pages are clean and bright. Overall the condition of these nine volumes is fine, with fine dust wrappers. Bookseller Inventory # 005873
