The preface is also original to this edition.Poet, author of short and long fiction, playwright, essayist, critic, polemicist, autobiographer, diarist, José Régio (1901-1969) was perhaps the most varied and complete as well as one of the greatest Portuguese literary figures of his century, and a key figure in the second generation of modernism.
