Book Description: Sgc Production, United States, 2013. Paperback. Book Condition: New. 229 x 152 mm. Brand New Book ***** Print on Demand *****. Independence Versus Conformity is a look back at the research of Solomon E Asch. At the time his work would be a successful attempt at supporting the earliest research pertaining to social psychology, the scientific study of how behavior can be affected by social surroundings. This research as it would turn would support the notion individual opinion could be easily altered the result of the opinions of one s social surrounding. Asch would take more of a hands-on approach within his demonstration as compared to the work of Bernheim, as an example. Asch s 1955 study would act as a middle ground, bridging the earliest studies of the beginning of the 20th century to the present day findings of a more modern social psychology. The research in creation of this report would act as a follow-up to the 1955 study, in a creative means of putting the author himself in an evaluatory position within the actual experiment. Book Description: Book on Demand, Miami, 2013. Perfect binding. Book Condition: NEW. Dust Jacket Condition: NEW. 5.8" x 8.3". In English language. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Impression formation in social psychology (sociology) refers to the process by which individual pieces of information about another person are integrated to form a global impression of the individual (i.e. how one person perceives another person). Underlying this entire process is the notion that an individual expects unity and coherence in the personalities of others. Consequently, an individual's impression of another should be similarly unified. Two major theories have been proposed to explain how this process of integration takes place. The Gestalt approach views the formation of a general impression as the sum of several interrelated impressions. Central to this theory is the idea that as an individual seeks to form a coherent and meaningful impression of another person, previous impressions significantly influence or color his or her interpretation of subsequent information. In contrast to the Gestalt approach, the cognitive algebra approach of information integration theory asserts that individual experiences are evaluated independently, and combined with previous evaluations to form a constantly changing impression of a person. An important and related area to impression formation is the study of person perception, which refers to the process of observing behavior, making dispositional attributions, and then adjusting those inferences based on the information available.Solomon Asch (1946) is credited with conducting the seminal research on impression formation. It will make a welcome and enlightening addition to anyone's basic library of Jewish resources." Ñ The Online Jewish Community "Steven J. Rubin has assembled a remarkable anthology of poetry, memoir, and fiction by Jewish writers inspired by the Jewish holidays. The table of contents reads like a 'Who's Who' of Jewish literature . . . This entertaining collection serves as a welcome companion to Jewish holiday celebration."ÑReform Judaism "While Rubin "hopes that readers will . . incorporate various poems, stories, or essays . . . into their own 'celebration' of the holdiays, " I think the anthology could also be used as the starting point for discussions of Jewish identity, family relationships and community issues. Lovers of Jewish literature will find it an excellent introduction to a wide variety of Jewish writing styles, while the Biographic Notes will help them place the writers in historical perspective."ÑThe Reporter (Vestal, NY) Steven J. Rubin is Professor of English and Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Adelphi University. He is the author of a critical biography of the American Jewish author Meyer Levin, and the editor of two previo. book. Bookseller Inventory # 53085X2

Book Description: Eudeba Editorial Universitaria de Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, 1972. Rústica con solapas. Book Condition: Buen Estado. Good Condition. 647pp. Bookseller Inventory # 509850

Book Description: Global Vision Publishing House, 2002. Hardcover. Book Condition: New. . (illustrator). . This is a pioneering attempt to cover an in depth biographical informations of 375 eminent psychologists from all over the world since earliest time to present day. For including the name as psychologist in this encyclopaedia, some basic principles have always been kept in mind, i.e., those who gave new dimensions in psychological thoughts and different views of all the major psychological schools and traditions of the world from different fields, times and places. Each entry of the psychologists has been written following different aspects as? Nationality; Date of birth and death (where appropriate), with places where these can be ascertained; Fields of major contributions; Details of education, professional and other appointments; Outline of the psychologist?s ideas with some indication of his reception and influence on others as well as some additional sources of informations regarding him other than those listed in the primary and secondary materials used by the author of the entry. We believe that none of the major psychologist`s name have been missing from this Encyclopaedia.
