Soft cover. Condition: Good. G+. Mild edgewear overall with a bit of a crease (not manifesting) to the front top corner. Some rubbing esp. to spine corners incl. a patch of loss to back spine corner, cosmetic only. What appear to be tiny touches of loss to top quadrant of front wrap are actually part of the design, not defects. A smidgen of wear/soiling to bottom edge of text block and one tiny spot to fore-edge. Binding is holding up well. Internally, there is a fairly faint ink stamp to the title page with the date 9/63 and the original price of $1.25 (equivalent to $12.54 in 2023). No other marks, no names, underlining, dogears, etc. Pages are clean and clear albeit a bit aged. Includes 58 very short essays on a wide range of subjects, one fragment, a glossary, and an index of Latin phrases and quotations used by Bacon. Introduction by one Oliphant Smeaton, and cover design by Michael Jackson(!).
