Book Description: F. Warne & Co. Ltd, 1922. First edition. 12mo. Red paper covered boards with white lettering and colour onlay to upper cover. In printed glassine dustwrapper. A very good copy, which has a light stain to the lower edge of the upper panel of the book. The dustwrapper is in very good condition, being mainly complete, with a long tear between the front flap and front panel. Loosely inserted is the flier for "a new and exciting board game", The Peter Rabbit Race Game with details of the two versions on sale. Pictorial endpapers and colour plates accompanying the nursery rhymes. Very rare in the original dustwrapper, due in part to the fact that the rear panel advises us, "This cover may be forwarded to your bookseller, with instructions to supply any of the volumes included in the lists of titles". The rear wrapper lists the main story books plus the first four books in French; whilst front and rear flaps offer the large format books, the book shelf, Race Game and painting books.
