A remarkably crisp copy for such a utilitarian book. 527 pages. No date on the title page, but there is a line of type under the publication city, "1 2 3 4 5 CR7595 Duell, Sloan." Copyright page dated only 1945, 1946, with no statement of edition/printing. There is NO book-of-the-month-club dot on the back cover. Spock's book was THE gold standard for books on child-care for a generation or more. It begins with the famous line, "Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do." By the time of Spock's death in 1998, it had sold more than 50 million copies. Early editions are extremely scarce.
