The 1953 play, 'The Crucible', written by American playwright Arthur Miller, dramatises the Salem witch trials that took place in Massachusetts Bay Colony. This much loved play was then adapted for the silver screen in 1966 staring Winona Ryder and Daniel Day-Lewis. This book once belonged to Professor William St Clair who was a British historian and senior research fellow at the Institute of English Studies.
