D/W has minor wear to edges as does book to edges and corners, end papers are maps, a nice clean and tight copy. Signed by the artist. Diamond Valley has a romantic history which dates from the days when Heidelberg was 'scarcely a village' and Eltham was a tiny township in the forest that stretched to Melbourne. The Valley was the site of the first gold discovery in Victoria, at Anderson's Creek on 13th July 1851, and gold seekers were among those who opened the district for settlement. A fascinating book.
