KLT 037986 First ed. stated. Ex-school library. Solid pale green cloth hard cover with a bit of wear esp. along lower edge of front board where it is worn thru to cardboard, also head and heel of spine are worn with tiny fraying. Boards with tape marks from where jacket had been taped on. With discarded stamped on ffep also with a youth's writing in red pen on ffep and likewise on rear end papers also with a library pocket. Binding is tight and interior pages are mostly clean. Jacket is mostly whole and fairly clean though with small chipping at head of spine and tape marks from library label near the heel of the spine. Item Description: BACON,PEGGY. GHOST OF OPALINA: ORIGINAL ART. Offered here are 3 of the original pen and ink drawings by Bacon used in her 1966 book entitled the Ghost of Opalina. All are done on art paper with publication notes in margins. They appear in the book reduced in size from the originals, described as follows: 1. "Pouring what light I had left into my eyes" - (p.52). A wonderful image of two dueling men in a forest. Hovering over the shoulder of one of the duelers is the ghostly spectre of a cat. Done with minute detail, the image measures 4 1/4" wide x 6" high. 2. "to enjoy Hominy, the tree house and the pigs" (p.168). Seven children are standing and kneeling in a field. They are looking at an enclosed pen with piglets and at bunny in a cage. The image measures 4 1/2" wide x 7" high. 3. "They did succeed in finding a few trifles" (p.220). Six teenagers are excavating in a cave and a shaft of light shines down through the entry. Image measures 5 " wide x 7". Sold with an ex-lib. copy of the book. All three drawings for.
