Contents include: Ammunition, how expended on return; Arming Recruits; Armories, Arsenals, etc; Action, stores lost in; Arms and Accoutrements left on the battle-field or Taken by Deserters; Classification of Ordnance Stores; Commanding Officers of Posts Responsible for Property, Blank Forms; Forts; Loss or Damage to Ordnance Stores; Militia, Regimental Quartermaster; etc. The book also has illustrations of various forms. This copy is inscribed "W. L. Horton, 1st LT. & ACM Newbern" Horton served with the 24th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment and was wounded by grapeshot in the shoulder on 13 March 1862 in the Battle of New Berne, N.C. Very good copy. Dark cloth with the Ordinance Department seal stamped in relief on both the front and back cover. Wear to the top spine tab. 140 pages.
