Condition: Good. 1970. First edition thus. 192 pages. This is an ex-Library book. Pictorial dust jacket over blue cloth. Black and white illustrations throughout by Shirley Hughes. Ex library copy with associated labels, inserts, stamps and annotations. Pages remain bright and clean with minimal tanning and foxing. Binding remains firm. Boards have light shelf wear with minor corner bumping and crushing to spine ends. Some mild marks and staining to surfaces. Boards are slightly bowed. Unclipped jacket has light edge wear with minor chipping and creasing. Some rubbing and marking to surfaces.

First edition, first printing. Shirley Hughes' retained copy, signed by her. Original red cloth with silver titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout in black and white by Shirley Hughes. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the extremities a little rubbed, the cloth with a few small white marks. the contents are clean and bright throughout. Complete with the rubbed and nicked original dustwrapper which is a touch faded to the spine and has a small stain to the rear panel. Not price-clipped (10s. 6d. to the front flap).
