Softcover. Condition: Near Fine. First edition. Edited and with an introduction by William Booth. Poet David Ignatow's copy with a printed bookplate inside the front cover. Plain stapled wrappers in printed dust jacket. Light wear and the jacket with a tiny bit of soil on the rear panel, near fine. Inscribed to Ignatow on the front fly: "For David, with love and admiration always, Robert." Bly's analysis of Jung's idea of "the shadow," the repressed world that a person has tried to forget. "In the present collection of Bly's explorations of the shadow there is more poetry and storytelling than doctrinaire psychological discourse." (from the introduction). Reprinted by Harper & Row in 1988, this edition is significantly more uncommon, and with a nice association. Bly edited Ignatow's 1975 *Selected Poems* (Wesleyan).
