Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Vintage Paperback. PBO Sharp Unread First Printing of this Paperback Original. August, 1981.$1.95 Cover Price. Square, tight and clean throughout with a touch of page edge toning. Some mild wear to edges and tips. Shallow front hinge crease but feels unread. Fresh and bright with no chipping or tears. Wonderful long inscription by Tabor/Whittington to mystery author Mike Avallone ont he title page, " Dear MFU1, Jr., Thanks for the GUNFIGHTERS. Neat gimmick for tag line. Never hope to write better than L. L'Amour - Pray only to sell better!! This is one off six I did. No longer doing them. Thought you might like the twist here-in. I made Randolph Scot, (Sheriff Carr), the villain. All the best. Sincerely, Tabor Evans Whittington". Below this inscription, Avallone clarifies Whittington's meaning to a friend or associate, "*Nick: He always called me MFU#1 meaning The Man From U.N.C.L.E.! All the best, Mike Avalonne". Avallone had written the very first The Man From U.N.C.L.E. story. A very pretty collectable copy and a terrific association and presentation. Naturally very scarce.
