Seller: The Bark of the Beech Tree, Depoe Bay, OR, U.S.A.
Book
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Reprint. "Mother" was an early novel (her first?) in a prolific string of novels from Kathleen Norris. It was an expanded version of a short story written by a woman who was to become one of the most successful and lauded writers - and activists - of her time. (She's not to be confused, of course, with a much later poet and essayist of the same name.) First published in October 1911, this is a reprint from January 1912, pre-dating a new edition that came out in 1913. The boards are a little soiled, particularly along to edge, the textblock is browned, there's an inscription on front endpaper, and the extremities show slight wear. Internally, a tight and clean copy and very good for its age.
