Scarce history of the 23-day expedition of a British force during the American Revolution aimed at destroying the tiny village of Chestnut Neck situated o the Little Egg Harbor (now the Mullica) River in the present day southern New Jersey Atlantic County. The British objective was to destroy the village, warehouses and privateer vessels found in port, as well as the nearby Batsto iron works which supplied implements and armaments to the American forces.
