Very attractive unclipped dust jacket, (18s net), has mild rubbing to edges and a stain on reverse that just shows barely along the lower spine panel. Still fresh and bright with no chipping, creases, or tears. A very pretty collectable copy at a great price.

Night Birds on Nantucket is the third book in the Wolves Chronicles, a series set in an alternate 19th century where the Stuart kings remained in power. The illustrations were drawn by Pat Marriott, who designed the covers for Fleming's Dr No and with whom Aiken worked for 30 years. In 1968 Aiken won the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize for another book in the series, The Whispering Mountain. Octavo. Original black cloth, spine lettered in gilt, top edge black, map endpapers. With illustrated jacket. Line drawings in the text.
