This is a First Edition hardcover book with 86 pages including many illustrations. The binding is strong with all pages firmly attached. There are a couple of pages that some very light soiling and there are two names written on the first end paper. The pages are otherwise clean with no tears. The copyright page states 1946 First Edition with no other dates or printings shown. This is definitely Not a former library book. The brown cloth covers show just a hint of edgewear and light soiling. This old book looks and feels great! We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!.

The boards' bottom, front corners are a little frayed. The cloth has a few faded spots, with 1 1/2 in. being the largest. An owner's name is on the front pastedown. One page has a vertical, crease line. Seven pages and one plate have a bend line on a corner. One page margin has a 1/4 in. chip. Scans e-mailed upon request. Illustrated endpapers, slight dampness wear to first few pages - slightly wavy. Full page color illustration opposite page 72 is almost completely detached but present. But overall clean and tight interior with no writing or marks. DJ has some chips and closed tears along spine. 86 pages. Susan Araminta is different from all the other dolls because her face was made of wood. She is put in a box with some old clothes and left at the curb. The trashman with a horse and wagon means to take her home to his little girl but she falls off the wagon and lands in the street. There she is discovered by the gruff Scottish Terrier Mister MacHugh who rescues her.
