Moderate to fairly strong cocking toward lower end with binding strong but stiff. Slight separation along rear gutter with play along hinge. Pages clean and unmarked but quite stiff; moderate unifrom toning throughout. Non-authorial gift inscription in fine hand pre-title page. Torn publisher's flier for Harte's complete works laid-in.
