Card covers 262pp b&w plates. Light wear to card edges/corners; a near fine copy. Whitecross volunteered for the AIF in 1941. Within 8 weeks he was in Singapore, within 12 months he was in Changi. He was then sent in a working party to build airstrips in Burma, and later to the Burma-Thailand Railway. Surviving the railway, he was sent to the Japanese coal mines.
