In addition, a postcard with front cover book illustration has been signed by Deborah Ranger and Kathleen Wyatt, contributors to the volume. Also, a flyer picturing Lamb and the contributors announcing the publication party at the University of Connecticut is included. Contains stories by Bonnie Jean Foreshaw, Robin Ledbetter, Deborah Ranger, "Savannah", Brendalis Medina, Chastity C. West, Kathleen Wyatt, Jennifer Rich, Carmen Ramos, Christina MacNaughton, Lynne M. Friend, Careen Jennings, Kimberly Walker, Lynda Gardner, Charissa Willette, Roberta Schwartz, Kelly Donnelly, Lisa White, Susan Budlong Cole, Barbara Parsons, and Wally Lamb. The author went to the State House in September 2007 to petition the governor to allow the women of York Prison to receive royalties from the sale of this book. He got no farther than the formidable Chief of Staff Lisa Moody, who informed Mr. Lamb that the governor was not available, but that she (Lisa Moody) would see to it that the book and his message were delivered. Rell opposed convicts receiving royalties while imprisoned. One would suppose that the governator never saw this book. What Moody did with it is a reasonable question to ask her the next time you see her. Unique copy. In March 2014, I was contacted by someone who told me he was having lunch with Ms. Moody in a few days, and would ask her about this story. He later told me that Moody remembered meeting Wally Lamb, and presenting the book to Governor Rell. Of course she did. And thats how I came to buy it from another seller here in Connecticut. I guess the Governor needed some cash, or her assistant did. The email of this correspondence is included. Wally Lamb has volunteered at the prison for over 20 years, helping the women of York to find their voices through the written word. Shipped in a well-padded box. Signed by Author(s).
