In 1953, the novella earned the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Clean, bright covers with a little dustiness to the white areas. Complete spine is very good - slight crease but not broken. Name to front otherwise unmarked with pages being age-toned. The simplicity of this novella turns the story into an all time classic among Hemingway's work. Not exlib and packed and sent with care.

The book is fine except with no flaws I can spot- see photos. The dust jacket has a tiny white spot of wear at one corner, still fine. The slipcase is near fine with a perfect front panel, somehow the rear panel has some wear around the edges of the illustration. Otherwise the slipcase is fine- no bumps or wear. As always, photos are the best description. First Edition Library Facsimiles have the same weight, size, typeface, art, dust jacket, finish and texture as the originals. Even mistakes (all first edition points are present) were duplicated The publisher's slip laid in with a description of the book and its first edition points is not present, but a color copy on similar paper is provided.

Includes pictorial endpapers, frontispiece, and title page. Illustrations by C.F. Tunnicliffe and Raymond Sheppard. Very good with a previous owner's initials on the endpaper. The price-clipped jacket has three areas of external tape repair at the top of the rear panel, top of the spine, and vase of the spine. One is two inches in length (top of spine) and two are about one-half inch each. In addition, there is light edge wear at the spine ends and edges. Finalist for the 1953 National Book Award. There is no embossed slug in the bottom corner of the rear panel.
