Book Description: Scholastic, 1985. Soft cover. Book Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. An original promotional two sided hanging cardboard display for the new (at the time) book Polar Express. It measures 3 feet wide by 18 1/2 inches tall. There are three metal grommets with which to hang it by. Both sides are the same image, the image that is on the cover of the book. Across the top it says "Enter the world of Chris Van Allsburg". Along the bottom it says "The Polar Express written and illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg". Then in smaller letters "Houghton Mifflin Company". One side is simply signed, the other is signed and dated "2004". In Near Fine condition with the top two corners having very light corner bump. An extremely rare promotional item that came out long before the book to announce the coming of the book. Chris Van Allsburg's breakout The Polar Express, for which he won the Caldecott Award. Also included is the original shipping folder and merchandising paperwork from Houghton Miffiln. Because of the size, shipping will be extra depending on where you are.
