The book is bound in blue buckram; the front cover is ruled in dark blue, and the titling on both the front over and spine is also in dark blue. "The Three Hostages" is the fourth Richard Hannay novel. One corner is bumped. The spine is faded (though not excessively), and there is wear at the spine-ends, including a ¼" "pull-tear " at the top. The binding is firm and the hinges are sound. The page edges are dusty.
