Hardcover (Original Cloth). Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. red end-papers; Thirty years since the publication of " The Female Eunuch " Germaine Greer returns to the subject of feminism. 'The Whole Woman' offers thirty-five self-contained 'chapterkins' of fiery rhetoric, authoritative insight, outrageous humour and broad-ranging debate ranging from Breasts and Girl-power to Mutilation, Sex and Sorrow. Together, they add up to a devastatingly powerful argument, in which Greet shows that although women have indeed come a very long way in the last thirty years, the notion of our 'having it all' has disguised the persistent discrimination and exploitation that continues to exist for women throughout the world in the basic areas of health, sex, work, politics, marketing and economics. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 351 pages. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Once listed, this will be the Only Uncorrected Proof for sale anywhere on the Internet. It is also a stated first printing, first American edition from Alfred A. Knopf. This book is in very nice condition. You can see the covers in the photos. There are a few little spots off the top edge of the spine. There is a teeny tiny tear off the bottom edge of the spine. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages and nicely tight covers as well. The pages are exceptionally clean and bright. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any soiling. There is a small group of pages at the latter part of the book with a thin crease off their top corners. There are no markings in the book. There are no attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. 'Even if it had been real, equality would have been a poor substitute for liberation; fake equality is leading women into double jeopardy. The rhetoric of equality is being used in the name of political correctness to mask the hammering that women are taking. When The Female Eunuch was written our daughters were not cutting or starving themselves. On every side speechless women endure endless hardship, grief and pain, in a world system that creates billions of losers for every handful of winners. It's time to get angry again.'.
